With a degree in Electrical engineering, I started my professional career as a maintenance engineer in the Indian Air Force. My primary responsibility was the maintenance of the fighter/bomber aircraft that comprise the backbone of the force. It was demanding and challenging work that needed attention to detail and adhering to uncompromising quality standards and has formed the basis of the work ethic that is now part of my professional DNA.

 

My second career is in technology and I have been consulting in the SAP HCM space for more than twenty years in the US, with specialization in the design and implementation of SAP Payroll and Time and SuccessFactors solutions. During this time, I have been privileged to work for IBM Global Business Services on an 8-year stint and have traveled to China, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan to implement solutions for clients in those countries. Among the other hands-on technical skills that I have developed, my work has also provided me with a deep knowledge of a typical end-to-end project management life cycle. Along the way I have picked up certifications in SuccessFactors Employee Central and SuccessFactors Recruitment Management with significant experience in implementing these and other modules in SuccessFactors.

 

Fast forward to mid-2019. While pursuing my passion for lifelong learning, I stumbled upon the ‘next big thing’ which is the AI explosion that is taking place all around us. Not wanting to be left behind, I have recently completed two courses at the MIT Sloan School of Management (Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy and Machine Learning: Implementation in Business). This all turns out to be a nice coincidence because my son and my daughter have master’s degrees in data science with Artificial Intelligence from the renowned Northwestern University in Chicago.
